Education and Training
ENRI staff has trained over 200 Tribal environmental coordinators throughout the state and over 50 volunteer monitors and watershed monitor coordinators in Southeast and Southcentral Alaska to use our Volunteer Level Biomonitoring methods. We have also trained over 100 educators in Southeast and Southcentral Alaska to use our Educational Level Biomonitoring methods with their students.
Upcoming training events:
Volunteer Level Bioassessment Training
Wednesday May 7th (5-9pm) and Thursday May 8th (5-9pm).
No experience is required.
Attendees will learn how to conduct a bioassessment, by collecting,
identifying and counting the different kinds of invertebrates living in
local streams. Everyone should dress for the weather and bring their
waders (preferable) or knee boots. If you have participated in the
Bioassessment in the past, you only need to attend the second day of
training (Thursday May 8th).
On May 7th we will meet at UAA’s Environment and Natural Resources
Institute building at 707 A St. Anchorage, AK 99501 at 5 pm. Dan Bogan
will give a short presentation on the bioassessmet sampling and then we
will head down to Valley of the Moon Park. Please dress to be outside! On
May 8th we will meet at the Campbell Creek Science Center at 5 pm.
